How Do You Shift from Anger to Love?

Check out the Institute of Heart Math’s Quick Coherence®  Technique

1. Focus your attention on the area around your heart, the area in the center of your chest. If you prefer, the first couple of times you try it, place your hand over the center of your chest to help keep your attention in the heart area.

2. Breathe deeply but normally and feel as if your breath is coming in and going out through your heart area. Continue breathing with ease until you find a natural inner rhythm that feels good to you.

3. As you maintain your heart focus and heart breathing, activate a positive feeling. Recall a positive feeling, a time when you felt good inside, and try to re-experience the feeling. One of the easiest ways to generate a positive, heart-based feeling is to remember a special place you’ve been to or the love you feel for a close friend or family member or treasured pet. This is the most important step.
It only takes a minute and help restore emotional balance!
We All Need a Time Out!

If you are in the middle of a heated moment and you are unable to control it, or bring yourself to calm down, give yourself permission for a “time out”. Step outside, go in your room, take a walk if possible – anything to remove yourself from the situation and allow yourself to shift gears. When you feel a change or improvement, revisit the situation. Ask yourself to approach the matter at hand with Love. From that action alone, you have increased your chances of a more productive approach and outcome. It may even be diffused all together when you return! At the very least, you just feel better!
